Your Research,
Realised.
We bridge the gap between academic proof-of-concept and real-world manufacturing — helping universities, research institutes, and technology transfer offices turn ideas into products.
From Concept to Manufacture
A complete engineering pathway designed specifically for academic and research clients — from initial 3D design through to mass production.
3D Design & Structural Engineering
Precision CAD modelling and structural analysis to translate your research specifications into manufacturable geometries. We work with your existing schematics and technical papers.
Prototype Making
High-fidelity prototypes for grant demonstrations, investor pitches, and technology showcases. Functional, presentable, and built to your timeline.
Mould Design
Professional mould engineering for injection moulding and die-casting, optimised for your production volumes and material requirements.
Full Manufacturing Pathway
From 3D printing for small batches through to injection moulding and die-casting for mass production — a single partner for your entire manufacturing journey.
Technology Transfer Support
Dedicated support for technology transfer offices: IP-aware engineering, documentation for licensing, and manufacturability assessments for commercialisation.
Precision Engineering Consultation
Expert consultation on materials selection, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing feasibility — bridging the language gap between research and production.
The Research-to-Product Pathway
A structured, transparent process designed around the realities of academic timelines, grant cycles, and commercialisation milestones.
Transparent Pricing
All projects begin with a free discovery call. We provide detailed, itemised quotes after understanding your research stage, technical requirements, and timeline. Payment is milestone-based — 50% to begin, balance on delivery.
3D Design & Modelling
We turn your research schematics, technical drawings, or device descriptions into a professional 3D digital model — engineered with your target manufacturing method in mind from day one.
- Sketch / schematic to 3D model
- Device & instrument modelling
- Multi-component assembly design
- Photorealistic renders for grant reports
- STEP / IGES / STL file delivery
Structural Engineering & DFM
We engineer every component for real-world performance and manufacturability. Our written DFM report is structured to support grant applications, technology licensing documentation, and investor due diligence.
- Wall thickness & draft angle review
- Material selection for production
- Structural analysis & strength review
- Design-for-manufacturing (DFM) report
- Parting line & mould-flow analysis
- Written report for grant / IP filing
Prototype Making
We produce a real, holdable prototype using the method best suited to your research stage — from rapid 3D prints for lab testing to fully finished, presentation-ready samples for grant demos and investor pitches.
- FDM / SLA / SLS 3D printing
- CNC machined metal or plastic parts
- Resin & urethane casting
- Painted & finished presentation samples
- Functional assembly prototypes
Mould Design & Mass Production
When your research is ready to scale, we design and manage the tooling. We advise on the right process — injection moulding or die-cast — manage the mould maker, oversee first article inspection, and support your production ramp-up.
- Injection mould design & management
- Die-cast mould (zinc / aluminium)
- First article inspection (FAI)
- Small batch to mass production
- Supplier sourcing & quality oversight
- Technology licensing documentation support
Milestone payments
50% deposit to begin, balance on delivery. No full upfront payment required.
NDA on every project
A mutual NDA is signed before any technical discussion begins.
Free discovery call
All projects begin with a free 30-minute call to scope your requirements.
Precision Engineering Since 2018
Studio Cooperation is a Hong Kong-based research and education company dedicated to bridging the gap between academic innovation and real-world manufacturing. Founded in 2018, we work directly with universities, research institutes, polytechnics, and technology transfer offices to bring proof-of-concept devices to market.
Our engineering work is powered by STK Workshop — a 300-person precision manufacturing facility with 80+ R&D engineers and deep expertise in precision tolerances, mould design, and mass production. This partnership gives our academic clients direct access to world-class manufacturing capability.
